Vietnam & Hong Kong Sign Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement
HANOI -(Dow Jones), Dec. 16, 2008- Vietnam and
Hong Kong signed a double taxation avoidance agreement
December 16, 2008, in a move to boost bilateral economic ties, Vietnam's
Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
"The double taxation avoidance agreement will help promote trade and
investment ties between Vietnam and
Hong Kong," Vietnam's Deputy Finance Minister Do Hoang
Anh Tuan said at the signing ceremony.
So far,
Hong Kong investors have invested nearly
$5 billion in more than 400 projects in Vietnam, the ministry
said.
Trade between Vietnam and
Hong Kong reached
$2 billion in 2007, it said, without providing comparative
figures.
